Sunday June 25th through Sunday July 2nd 2017
Northern California, Mendocino Woodlands
2017 Witchcamp Teachers
I am a poet, witch, and synergist, and have been working Reclaiming magic for 16 years. I seek the sacred in words and woods, in song and silence, and in the intimate magics of the everyday. I endeavor to look life in the eye and believe that surrender holds a key to grace. I am called to divination, gathering messages from tarot cards and runes, from the sounds of tree roots stretching and the drumming of heartbeats. I am called to community, knowing that many hands make light and interesting work. I come alive when our voices come together, calling to the Mysteries.
An itinerant Priestess at heart, I currently reside in Pittsburgh, PA, traveling to make sacred mischief. I am blessed to share this year’s work with you.

“I was born a wild girl
cradled tight in mountain arms
snow melt swaddling my skin
bare feet kissing moss and rocks
“Blessed Be” the Crones exclaimed,
“that child’s a witch!”
So I sing on my CD “Out of the Broom Closet.” And it’s true. I was raised in the Trinity mountains of Northern California learning my craft from the creek, the trees, the rocks the wind, and the Moon. I always knew I was a witch. As a seminary student at Pacific School of Religion (PSR) in Berkeley in the early 1980s I took a worship and ritual class from Starhawk, was introduced to Reclaiming and said, “…that’s the kind of witch I am!” I currently serve as a chaplain at PSR working with seminary students and activists of many spiritual traditions and faith practices.
I am a writer: having grown up in a story rich culture, lived in San Francisco through the AIDS crisis that devastated my Queer community, and worked with generations of activists on issues of social justice, earth justice, and sexual health - I hear the whispers and shouts of hearts all around me wanting their stories to be told - so I write them down in songs, in novels, in my columns for SageWoman magazine and the PaganSquare website.
I'm a story teller, brought up in the traditions of eastern Europe. I've been deeply interested in mythology and history for as long as I can remember, especially as it applies to working magick and ritual. I'm particularly fascinated in the use of ritual technology to access information and experiences that fill in the blank spots in the information that has come down to us. .
I'm also deeply interested in the natural world, and feel an especially deep connection with our insect friends. (in the mundane world, I'm a beekeeper, among other things)I currently live at the Sweetwater Community, a 500 acre conservation land trust in SW Missouri.
I have been a Reclaiming Teacher for over two decades and I'm looking forward to spending a week in the Redwoods, connecting with old friends, and making new ones, and helping participate in the creation of that magick between the Worlds that is Witchcamp.

I am a musician, storyteller, and queer eco-political activist witch, wildly in love with this good green earth. I facilitate experiential, transformational magic and music across the U.S., Canada, Germany and Australia, inviting participants into a direct experience of their own magic and powers of transformation. I draw heavily on my training and experiences in the Reclaiming Tradition of Witchcraft, the Dances of Universal Peace, the Mevlevi Order of Sufism (Rumi's order of the Whirling Dervishes), my relationship with the green-bloods, and many other diverse mystical traditions.
I use music, trance, dance, singing, art, theatre, ritual, and other creative tools to help us access and dive deeper into our own magic and power, believing that if we are awakening more fully to our purpose, transformation is inevitable. While it can certainly be challenging, we can either dance with it or feel bludgeoned by it. I say, “Let’s dance!”
I look forward to exploring the deep healing, power and magic within each of us, and to witnessing and reveling in the unfolding mystery as we come together between the worlds under the canopy of the glorious redwoods
I am a Reclaiming geezer witch and have lived all of my life in the wintry and lushly green state of Minnesota, 2 miles from the Mississippi River. I have been a camper, organizer, and teacher at Witchcamps for 30 years. My home camps are Winter WitchCamp and Witchlets. I am involved in my home community teaching classes, creating labyrinths, tending sacred sites, and bringing flow, ease, and wee bits of fun to any meetings I attend. My passions are labyrinths, tarot, spontaneous co-created ritual, ice magic, gardening, hanging out with my 90 year old moms, playing with 4 year old school kids and being an excellent husband. I am drawn to Tricksters as well as Time, Paradox, Jesus, Baba Yaga, Loki, Ganesh, the Fey, and Elvis. I am delightfully "retired" and marvel at the mystery of aging and the curious, how fascinating moments that continue to enrich, humble, and entertain me in my day to day existence.
My teaching style is experiential, embodied and emphasizes practical magical skills. As a wise person once said, "the universe is stranger than we can imagine". I would love to tap into that strangeness and create magic together that is both a useful tool in our daily lives and transforms our beings and the worlds we live in. In these challenging times, let us create the magic and engage human and spirit allies that will inspire and assist us in manifesting the worlds we envision. I am grateful and enthralled to return to the California WitchCamp community this year and to experience the mystery that arises amidst us in the redwood forest.
I am witch, magical geek, world bridger, playful trickster, and shapeshifter. Born and raised in Paris, France, I moved to California 19 years ago and fell in love with San Francisco, its magic, and its people. I encountered the Craft and the Goddess 17 years ago, first through Wicca and Shakta Trantra before finding my home in Reclaiming 10 years ago, drawn to the community focus on service, openness and
As a scientist, I find magic and science to be two sides of the same coin and enjoy bringing the science of magic and the magic of science into my workings.
I am dedicated to Hekate, Kali, and Brigitte. I connect deeply with the magic of the Goddess and love working with mystery, shadow work and rituals to create spaces for healing and transformation.
As a witch, I like to work with the more subtle threads of community-weaving, both in priestessing in my community of Los Angeles and in interweaving magic into the tapestry of the overculture. In Los Angeles, I have been weaving magic through public rituals and teaching Reclaiming classes for several years. I have always enjoyed exploring myriad aspects of magic in both settings, including community spell work and the decoding ancient stories. In all my magic, I seek to mediate the gaps between what was, what is, and what could be through co-created, ecstatic ritual, transformative trance work, and a deep connection to the divine. I am guided by deities ranging from Iberia to Sumeria and use magic and deed to rebuild that ancient, amorphous connection humanity had with ourselves and our world — for in that connection we can all reclaim our birthright.
