Witchcamp Paths 2026

The story for 2026 is Freya and the Brisingamen

Path 1. Seiðr, Galdr & The Currents of Wyr: With Phoenix and Yule

Join Yule and Phoenix for an experiential introduction to seiðr (Norse trance magic), galdr (sacred sound and voice-work), rune magic, bindrunes, and spirit-led trance states, taught through an animist witchcraft lens. Rather than focusing on reconstructing historical techniques or performing theatrical ritual, we approach these practices as living technologies of relationship, grounded in ways of listening, speaking, and negotiating with an ensouled world. Both Yule and Phoenix have been trained in this magick by Donald Engstrom, a Sami and Reclaiming Elder.

Through the practice of Seiðr, we will learn and develop oracular techniques, weave change, enter into grounded trance states, as well as open to forms of spirit communication and making ancestral contact. We will learn what it means to hold the role of völva/priestex as a witness rather than a controller, especially in a modern context.

Through the practice of Galdr, we will learn how to build magick with breath, rhythm, and nervous system regulation. We will practice using sound and shape to make and create boundaries. We will explore how our bodies are physical manifestations of magick and spellwork. We will also dive into the runes as presences and allies rather than symbols.

We will step into the currents of Wyrd, holding an animist worldview that reminds us that the land, ancestors, and unseen are not symbols or archetypes, but rather they are persons. We will work to enter into right relationship with them through weaving bindrunes, developing discernment, and listening to local spirits.

Path 2. Love in Action: Presence Magic for Chaotic Times:

with Amoret and Diana Love

When the world asks us to stay awake without burning out, to stay tender without collapsing, and to keep choosing a relationship with the Now, we ask: "What does fierce Love ask of us in this moment?"Together, we’ll build the inner and communal conditions that make wise action possible. This path is a complete breath: the inhale of returning to the body, the land, and the present moment, resting the nervous system, practicing deep listening, and strengthening our capacity to witness what is true...and the exhale of right action, clarifying what is ours to carry, strengthening will, and practicing solidarity through containers of mutual aid and shared care. We’ll work with practices for grounding and regulation, discernment, devotion, and aligned action, knowing when to pause, when to listen, when to reach for help, and when to step forward. We’ll orient to the wisdom of our other-than-human kin and allies, and we’ll honor Freyja as a guide for devotion, desire-as-truth, and love that is brave and embodied.

This is a path for magic-makers who want their presence to be real, their practice to be sustainable, and their love to have hands and feet.

Path 3: Elements of Magic: Stepping outside the lines and into seiðr with Freyja: This is the class for beginners in the reclaiming tradition, all newcomers are required to take this path: With Rebecca and Caduceus

With the powers of Air and the North Winds, Fire and the Dwarven Forges, Water and Glacial Streams, Earth and the Towering Fjords, and Spirit, the thread that weaves us all, we enter the Elements of Magic. This path offers a clear and comprehensive introduction for those new to magical practice while allowing seasoned witches to deepen into their work and relationship with the primal forces of Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Spirit. We walk this path with Freyja, Vanir goddess of love, magic, death, and sovereignty. Freyja teaches a magic that is embodied and relational, rooted in desire and shaped by change. Through Her, we explore how desire becomes will, how grief becomes wisdom, and how transformation unfolds when we learn to surrender.

It is said that Freyja once taught that the fifth element, Spirit, is found at the edge where one element meets another, where rain kisses stone, where flame dances in the air, and where hot metal hisses as it is quenched in water. In this liminal space, we learn to listen, to see, to feel, and to weave.

With Freyja's guidance, we will step into her sorcery, seiðr, and together we will learn grounding and casting, visualization and intention, trance and transformation, raising energy, spell-crafting, divination, potion-making, devotional acts, altar building, sacred space, consensus and community practice, and the art of ecstatic ritual. This is magic that lives not outside of us, but within our breath, will, emotion, bodies, and relationships.

Through ritual, discussion, embodiment, and personal and group reflection, participants will engage Freyja as guide, initiator, and co-conspirator, exploring vision and perspective, the power of wanting, the intelligence of feeling, the wisdom of the body, and the deep paradox of Spirit as change itself. Join us, one and all, as we sing with Freyja and learn Her magic.
